Description
Los Desterrados fourth studio album "Dos Amantes" is their strongest statement yet, rich in melodies, unconventional arrangements and compulsively danceable rhythms. Guest artists featuring on the album include Guy Schalom and Sheik Taha from the Baladi Blues ensemble as well as kanun player Nikolaos Baimpas.
A regular fixture on the world music scene, Los Desterrados were nominated for Best Group in the inaugural Songlines Music Awards, which led to festival appearances at Womad, Shambala, Queen's (Belfast), Canterbury and Brighton Sacred Music festivals. Los Des can also be found performing regularly as part of the London's thriving world music scene at venues which have included The Roundhouse, Indig02, Wilton's Music Hall and The Clore Ballroom. Outside London, the band has played successful gigs including St George's (Bristol) and York's National Centre for Early Music.
