”Yonder” is a beautiful word. It can mean several things and is not easy to define. It is mystical and simple at the same time, old fashioned or rather timeless.
YONDER’S music is ambiguous and indefinable. Mystical in all its simplicity and a little bit like the word itself, old fashioned or rather timeless. The same thing goes for the lyrics – they deal with love, life, death and life after death. Big and complicated subjects indeed, but Yonder´s lyrics are down to earth and simple without ever being one dimensional.
A lot of the musical inspiration comes from the other side of the Atlantic – acoustic blues, southern soul, old-time church and mountain music.
The band’s motto seems to be the old “less is more”. Quiet, laid back and thoughtful are all words that come to mind when listening to their music. But one could just as well put the emphasis on the intensity and strong will to communicate, both within the group and with the audience
