'Sol Negate is a symphonic progressive death metal band emerging from the mind of Edoardo Curatolo in Seattle, USA, with the intent of composing music in a classical manner, but with modern guitars/drums as part of the orchestral ensemble. Greatly influenced in equal parts progressive rock/metal, classical music, and extreme metal their music is symphonic and progressive without sacrificing being heavy. He wanted to "paint" using the palette that extreme metal offers without necessarily writing traditional metal songs. The progressive side, influenced from a deep history of bands like Pink Floyd and Dream Theater, is about making the music both fun and interesting while concealing the complexity of the composition. The metal side comes from a combination of black and death metal, alongside a bombastic helping of all things shred and tech. Those who appreciate 'crazy' time signatures, unconventional song structures, and intricate approaches will discover them within the music, but it won't feel like a gimmick: everything is intricately composed to support the material and ultimately overall experience the band creates through its music
