Description
Spotted a few months ago when she featured in an Admiral T song, the young Guadaloupean singer G'NY (pronounced J-Nee) has now released a first album, a feast of authentic Afro-Caribbean groove.
On "Libèté", G'NY sings of her native Guadeloupe (she wrote all the lyrics) over prominent percussion (ka, conga, cajun) merging with electro beats, r&b and zouk from track to track. This remarkable cocktail has the distinctive taste of New Music, a genre adored by the young generation of French West Indians.
The first single from "Libèté" is An Mitan Ke. The album also features a duet with Kassav's Jocelyne Béroard - Mizik En Nou.
