Description
'Born in Parallel' by composer and a double bass player Daphna Sadeh is a personal journey that moves between centuries of musical history and different genres - including world, jazz and baroque music.
The composition has four movements based on the elements - Earth, Fire, Water and Air - representing shared human experiences of conflict and resolution. Daphna Sadeh has released several CDs, including an album for John Zorn's label Tzadik. Her regular group, The Voyagers, has performed throughout Europe and the UK at various major festivals and venues.
This album is the result of collaboration with orchestrator and conductor David Murphy who arranged and conducted orchestral projects with the world renowned Ravi Shankar. The group includes Stewart Curtis on flute and soprano saxophone, Mark Bassey on trombone and Guy Schalom on percussion.
