Seeing a return to form since their 2007 release with Welcome to the Night Sky, and the anthemic success of that lead single "Weighty Ghost," the critical praise throughout the course of The Great Detachment campaign included nominations for the 2017 JUNO Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, the Polaris Prize, the Prism Prize, and favourable press from Rolling Stone, The Toronto Star, Q, Wallstreet Journal, Exclaim! and more- "Beneficiary," the first radio single was released Jan. 11th and also added to New Music Friday and premiered on Brooklyn Vegan. In the first week exclusive radio spins included Indie88 Toronto (added), PEAK Vancouver, X929 Calgary, X100.7 Red Deer, DRIVE Red Deer, and more.- "Surrender," the first track released from In the Land Of, launched on digital streaming partners on Monday, Dec. 10th, 2018 in line with a press release announcing on the album and tour, and saw good support from partners on Friday, Dec. 14th. The song was added to New Music Friday and Indie Radar playlists on Spotify, The Best of the Week on Apple Music, as well as Homegrown Rock, and New Canadian Indie on Google Music. - In 2016, the first single from The Great Detachment, "Amerika," was wholly embraced at radio in Canada, occupying the #1 slot at BDS overall commercial Rock radio for 11 weeks and #1 at commercial Alternative radio for 8 weeks. Overall it was the biggest CanCon Rock Single of the Year in 2016, remaining in the top ten charts for over 7 months and winning the Indies Award for Single of the Year.
