Afenginn means 'going berserk' in Old Norse language. 'LUX' is the name of the new release from this three time Danish Music Award winning, self-proclaimed 'Bastard Orchestra'. With a style which is at once serene and meditative and yet again with the spring of Nordic primitive force, that is so typical for the Scandinavian band..
Everybody who has experienced a concert by Afenginn knows, that we talk of a band, who sporting an almost punk energy are capable of weaving in all kinds of ingredients from classical music via klezmer to balkan and straight forward Nordic fiddler's music and create a hybrid, where each and every stanza is unique part of a whole which clearly is Afenginn. It has been like that since the debut, 'Retrograd', which won a Grammy in Denmark, and it is like that to this day. Mind you played sparklingly brilliant by a band, who will live out every idea, which comes out of the rasta adorned head of Kim Rafael Nyberg.
