Father and son Tor and Ola Welo lead this lively quartet session in a mainstream jazz programme that takes melody and swing as its priority. Featuring eight original composition by the father and son duo, the tunes are remarkable in that they are immediately familiar and memorable - old school style but with a contemporary edge. With the melodies up front, virtually every track is radio friendly. For an example, listen to "Reodors Ballade/Norwegian Sunset", a composition by the late Danish composer Bent Fabricius Bjerre, which is probably the most listened to ballad in Norway ever! -
