    With his cowboy albums, Robbins helped keep western music alive during the late '50s and early '60s, and the warm, affectionate spirit of this music illustrates why. Here you will find such country favourites as "El Paso," "Big Iron" and "Cool Water," as well as classic versions of "Streets of Laredo" and " Billy the Kid," among other western standards.

    This sensational album has been remastered and packaged in this very special collector's edition, which also includes 4 bonus tracks from the same period.

    The great Marty Robbins was country music's 'renaissance' man. He was a successful recording artist, stage performer, actor, author, songwriter, and stock car racer. His versatile baritone voice enabled him to handle many different styles of music, making him one of the most successful crossover artists during the 1950s and 1960s.

    Throughout his career, Robbins recorded country, western, honky-tonk, rockabilly, blues, Hawaiian music, calypso, and gospel. But overall, he was a prime example of the singing cowboy as shown on this classic album -'Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs'.
