W.A.S.P.'S LEGENDARY FIRST LIVE ALBUM ON DOUBLE VINYL FOR THE FIRST TIME, 30 YEARS AFTER ITS ORIGINAL RELEASE
FEATURING AN ABUNDANCE OF CLASSICS, INCLUDING "I WANNA BE SOMEBODY", "WILD CHILD", "L.O.V.E. MACHINE" & "SLEEPING IN THE FIRE"
Culled from three incendiary 1987 performances in Long Beach, San Diego and San Bernardino, W.A.S.P.'s 'Live... In The Raw' is an earth-quaking lesson in Heavy Rock. Frontman Blackie Lawless launched W.A.S.P. on the unsuspecting world in 1983 before long tales of their outrageous music and intense stage shows became legendary. Their epic live shows have remained at the heart of Heavy Rock, and this version of their first live album will be released just weeks before the band's 'The Crimson Idol' 25th anniversary world tour.
Formed in Oslo in 1996 by childhood friends Jon-Arne Vilbo and Thomas Andersen along with Jan-Henrik Ohme (later joined by Mikael Krømer, Lars Erik Asp and Kristian Torp), Gazpacho have honed their unique sound over a string of critically acclaimed albums and numerous tours, including several with long-time supporters Marillion.
This 2LP vinyl edition of 'Live... In The Raw' includes the original single LP recordings spread across three sides and a bonus four tracks taken from the 1998 CD reissue, which includes an acoustic recording of "Sleeping (In The Fire)". Presented in a gatefold packaging.
"It was all about shock for W.A.S.P. , be it flaming codpieces, tying a semi-naked woman to a torture rack mid-set, tossing raw meat into the audience or Blackie Lawless' own stupefying arrogance… One thing is for certain, in the annals of metal there are very few bands like W.A.S.P." Metal Hammer
