Description
Limited edition audiophile pressing 180 vinyl + bonus track "Count Your Blessings". Tenor Madness is one the early classics albums by Sonny Rollins. Released in October 1956 on Prestige Records, it is most notable for its title track, a collaboration between Rollins and John Coltrane, the only known recording featuring the two giants of the tenor playing together.
Rollins and Coltrane had crossed paths and played on the same stage a few times since the early '50s. Through the rest of the decade, they came to admire each other. Both had undergone a period of great learning during their careers as members of groups led by Miles Davis.
