Description
A collection of Hits from the American pop scene of the 1950s and early 1960s.
Almost 300 songs in a 10-CD box with the most legendary "Boy Groups".
In addition to the ORIGINAL LPs, there are 41 bonus tracks - almost all of them hits
BOY GROUPS have been around much longer than today's hype about the (often casted, mostly good-looking), singing and dancing teenage groups. "Black" R&B groups dominated the pop market in the 1950s and early 1960s, with a few "white" quartets or quintets thrown in for good measure. Their names still resound half a century later: The Drifters, The Coasters, The Platters (the exception to the rule, as they also feature a female singer), The Clovers, The Olympics, The Ames Brothers, The Four Preps, The Gaylords, Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers, The Four Lads, The Four Seasons, and The Dell-Vikings. Of course they are all featured here with their greatest hits. In case their biggest chart successes were not to be found on the LPs, they have been added among the many bonus tracks. Be sure to revisit these "Oldies but Goldies" and many more like them: "Save the Last Dance for Me", "Charlie Brown", "Only You", "Fool, Fool, Fool, Fool", "Western Movies", "Rag Mop", "26 Miles", "The Little Shoemaker", "Moments to Remember", "Come Go With Me", "Big Girls Don't Cry". Pure nostalgia.
