Description
'The Devil Makes Three' is the brand new album from up and coming Scottish fiddle, harp and vocal duo Twelfth Day.
Twelfth Day are at the forefront of innovative, modern folk music. With a fresh, open-minded approach to song and instrumental writing the duo create an entirely unique sound, interweaving masterful fiddle and harp playing with beautifully harmonised vocals in stylish and dynamic arrangements.
Hailing from opposite ends of Scotland, Orcadian Catriona Price (fiddle/vocals) and Scottish Borders native Esther Swift (harp/vocals) release a brand new Twelfth Day album (the duo¹s second) 'The Devil Makes Three' on 9 June 2014 and embark on a supporting UK tour throughout April-June 2014.
No strangers to TV, Catriona has appeared as a finalist of BBC Scotland's "Young Traditional Musician of the Year" competition, with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain on the BBC Proms, and featured solo on the Discovery Channel's documentary "Titanic: The Aftermath" performing her own music. Esther has appeared on Welsh channel S4C with her harp quartet, playing two of her own compositions "Clouds" and "Water", as well as performing on Irish TV with Jimi Goodwin and Cherry Ghost as part of Other Voices Festival.
Twelfth Day have made numerous appearances on the radio including performing a live session for Radio 3. One of the duo's earlier recordings "Fare Thee Well" was used in a short film on Channel 4 by the makers of hit show "Skins".
The music on the new album is haunting, beautiful and stylish, played by two young musicians with outstanding musical abilities and talent.
