Jack Roberts has drawn comparison to heavyweights Tom Waits, Barry Adamson & Leonard Cohen with his growling vocals and vivid songwriting. his second studio album combines filmic epics, raucous shanties and a subtle blues laden folk sound. Having recently supported Nick Harper, Son Of Dave, Brute Chorus, Ruarri Joseph and Band Of Holy Joy, Roberts is known for his captivating live performances using everything from an adapted one-string bass mic-stand to a bicycle pump. Robert's own artwork adorns and gives the name to a record of dark, curious storytelling full of the contradiction of wit and pain.
Jack Roberts makes his stunning comeback with Tip Top having previously signed to Sony for his debut solo LP 'Longer On A Message' that proved a hit on Glastonbury's Acoustic Stage and on tour supports for the likes of Crash Test Dummies, Robyn Hitchcock and Jah Wobble as well as special appearances at The Royal Albert Hall and Liverpool's Echo Arena. -
