British band Tindersticks formed in 1991, renowned for their orchestral sound and their vocalist Stuart A. Staples' characteristic baritone. The group combined the dark romanticism of Leonard Cohen, Ian Curtis, and Scott Walker with the song craft of Lee Hazlewood and the aesthetics of indie rock.
Not to be confused with their first album Tindersticks (from 1993), the second album, originally released in 1995 is called Tindersticks too. It features Tiny Tears and Travelling Light, which are still 2 of the band's most popular tracks.
Tindersticks (the 2nd album) is available on audiophile black vinyl.
