  • Description

Pink Panther Project returns with their second full-length album, Clinics And Models, and it is a monumental leap forward in both production and creative depth.

Released via the enigmatic electro label Assur Anshar and distributed by Rune Serpent Europa / The Circle Music, this 10-track opus is darker, sharper, and more assured than their debut - while still rooted in their seductive, techno-oriented electro aesthetic.

The ghost of dark Mike Oldfield looms large, conjured through otherworldly vocals and spellbinding electronic textures. Opening with "Under The Ash", the album sets a mesmerizing tone: a cold yet catchy electro-ballad that instantly grips you with its icy chorus. This mood seamlessly flows into "Burn This Deep", a track that confronts the disturbing psychological effects of the internet on young minds. It's brutal, candid, and unforgettable. Then comes the body-shaking force of "Sex Dreams" and "Soldaten", the latter a stark anti-war anthem that drives forward with militant precision and a haunting German command urging soldiers toward their doom. It's as chilling as it is danceable. "Read, Repeat, Forget" is a standout moment - a sophisticated EBM piece that critiques functional illiteracy in a deeply infectious groove. The intellectual dancefloor never sounded so urgent.

"Open A Clinic In Japan" may be the album's most experimental offering - slow, hypnotic, and drenched in modern-oriental psychedelia. It's a twilight zone of sound, simultaneously gentle and disorienting. The intensity surges back with The Worm - tight, hammering, and vocally powerful - before veering into surrealism with the ironically cheerful "Apres-midi Paranoiaque", a French-styled piece that masks unsettling lyrics beneath its whimsical delivery. Instrumental interlude "White Mood" brings rhythmic relief, while "Black Pink Panthers" harks back to the band's core identity with spectral electronics and a captivatingly sensual vocal performance.

Clinics And Models is a triumph of vision, sound design, and storytelling. It's rare to encounter an electro/EBM album that combines so many bold ideas without ever feeling bloated. Hypnotic, intellectual, and disturbingly seductive, Pink Panther Project cements themselves as one of the most compelling new voices in the electronic underground. A must-listen for fans of dark femininity, provocative themes, and razor-sharp synth work.
