Description
The forthcoming Anderson Council album, 'The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon' is a magical brew of Psyche Rock out on JEM Records. The album contains 12 original songs. The low-down is that the Jersey-based band has come up with "their best album yet, lots of radio tracks," according to Marty Scott, President of JEM. The band is the brainchild of Peter Horvath, songwriter and singer whose love affair with late 60's pop continues to inform and inspire the band's sound and direction. "The songs are about our usual favorite subjects: relationships of every stripe, tea, driving...," said Horvath.
'The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon' is a departure from the past. "Instead of writing the bulk of the songs by myself, I wrote them with either my friend Dawn Eden Goldstein or Michael Temkin," Peter said. Outstanding fact about the album? "It only took three years to finish!" Songs were written from late 2019 through early 2021. The compositions were passed back and forth in emails and discussed over phone calls, texts, and Facetime instead of being in the same room with guitars. "Not my favorite way to work, but a ton of songs came out of it, so...?" Peter said.
It's the first band album that features two new members: Guitarist Michael Potenza and Drummer Scott Jones. They join Simon Burke (Bass Guitar) and of course Peter (Guitar).
Fun Fact: The band adopted The Anderson Council, a moniker from blues musicians Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. (Note: Pink Floyd took the first names.)
