meStissage is the sixth studio album of Teofilo Chantre, also Cesaria Evora’s appointed composer who he wrote for the beautiful Ligereza, Um Pincelada, Crepuscular Solidão or Tortura, among others. “Melodic obviousness�, “harmonic sophistication�, “elegant swing�, “light Creole jazz� are the words used by the press to define Teofilo. These apply once again to his new album. With Bleuets dans les Blés back in 2004, Teofilo had initiated a collaboration with Marc Estève (song writer for Maurane, Lambert Wilson or Juliette Gréco). Marc and Teofilo reunite again in meStissage for 5 tracks, making Sodade resonate in French, notably in single Tu Verrais. As another guest on this sparkling album appears Bernard Lavilliers who, after covering a Teofilo Chantre song in his latest release, meets him for a self-restrained duet Oli’me Ma Bô. -
