Description
The two Sonatas for viola and piano by Lino Liviabella are a magnificent example of Italian instrumental music from the middle of the 20th century. The first is formed of one movement, and has a diversified structure, while the second is longer and comprises three movements. To this day, Nino Rota is particularly well-known for his music for the cinema and above all for his collaboration with the director Federico Fellini. This CD contains all his music for viola and piano, the Sonatas in G major and C major, and the famous Intermezzo. The performers are the viola player Luca Sanzo and the pianist Maurizio Paciariello.
Personnel: Luca Sanzo (viola), Maurizio Paciariello (piano)
