PAT DINIZIO IN HIS OWN WORDS: "When I was a kid growing up in New Jersey in the 60s, like everyone else, I loved to blast WABC on the car radio and sing along to my favorite songs at the top of my lungs and drive my folks crazy, or stand next to my record player in my bedroom, ear to the speaker, volume cranked all the way up, singing harmonies to my beloved Beatles and Beach Boys albums, pretending I was a member of those bands, or the ultimate fantasy, that I was in a recording studio, making my own record! Make no mistake, This Is Pat DiNizio is not to be confused with the sort of standards revival records that have become so popular in recent years. The difference is, with a very few exceptions, that most of the songs I recorded for this collection were songs that our generation grew up listening to firsthand when they were initially released, and when these songs first achieved popularity on the radio. This Is Pat DiNizio is, simply, a collection of my favorite pop songs and some originals, arranged for solo voice and piano". -
