  • Description

The first leader album by the extraordinary talented double bass player Peter Brendler, duetting with esteemed veteran guitarist John Abercrombie. They perform nine original compositions and a cover of Gordon Jenkins' "Goodbye" on this spirited duo album.

After graduating with great distinction from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2001, Peter has made New York his home, where he established himself firmly as one of the most sought after bassists on the NY scene. Abercrombie and Brendler have been working together for a while and their musical empathy is obvious for all to hear.

Over a career spanning more than forty years and nearly fifty albums, John Abercrombie has established himself as one the masters of jazz guitar. He is a restless experimenter, working firmly in the jazz tradition while pushing the boundaries of meter and harmony. He has recorded regularly as a leader for the ECM label and has played with jazz stars such as Gil Evans, Billy Cobham, Michael Brecker and Jack DeJohnette.

Personnel: Peter Brendler (bass), John Abercrombie (guitar)
