Description
Carl Stamitz was extremely popular during his lifetime and is often referred to today when studying contemporaries of Mozart. He is best known for being a representative of Mannheim school. Working with such composers as Franz Xaver Richter, Anton Filtz and Ignaz Holzbauer, Johann Stamitz managed to turn the Mannheim Orchestra into one of the finest of its day. L'arte del mondo and Werner Ehrhardt give an authentic performance of the Four Symphonies.
