  • Description

RE-PRESS: CD ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 2011

    • Remastered Motown debut album by much-revered singer/songwriter Tata Vega from 1976.

    • One of the new breed of artists signed to Motown in the mid-70s.

    • Featuring the critically acclaimed ‘Full Speed Ahead’ which gained an immediate response among Motown music lovers on both sides of the Atlantic.

    • Bonus tracks include two tracks Tata recorded with Earthquire and an additional mix of the album’s sizzling dance music title track!

For this 1976 release, Tata was surrounded by first class musicians such as Ray Parker Jr., James Gadson, Chuck Rainey, Eddie ‘Bongo’ Brown, Jay Graydon, Sonny Burke and Greg Poree. In addition to covers of songs by Stevie Wonder (‘Never Had A Dream Come True’) and Rufus (‘Keep It Coming’, written by Ashford & Simpson), writers involved in ‘Full Speed Ahead’ included a teenage Teena Marie (‘Just As Long As There Is You’), UK rare groove favourites Michael & Brenda Sutton (‘Music In My Heart’) and Tata herself who contributed ‘Try God’

Sleeve notes by Soul Music.com founder David Nathan include 2011 quotes from Tata.
