SORXE is a four piece experimental sludge/post metal band from Phoenix AZ, consisting of guitar, drums and two bassists. Relying heavily on improvisation in the writing process the band pulls ideas from an eclectic well of inspiration. Neurosis , Swans , Melvins , Pink Floyd, are all bands that been major influences. ‘Matter & Void’ is the second full-length album from SORXE. Recorded, Mixed and Co -produced by Matt Bayles ( Russian Circles, Botch, Isis). It is a massive record condensed within 6 tracks. The profound growth in the writing and song structures is apparent from their 2014 debut and self produced - Surrounded by Shadows. With this 2nd effort, SORXE was able to in some ways simplify while also maturing sonically. Evolution and experimentation of sound will continue. SORXE was formed in 2012 when Tanner Crace (guitar) and Shane Ocell (drums) decided to get together and jam and instantly hit it off. Crace, always recording jams and Ocell then quickly pieced together the beginnings of their 1st few songs. Quickly realizing the potential they recruited two bassists to bring the thunderous layers of low end. Sorxe has shared the stage with many amazing bands including and not limited to: Graves at Sea, Helms Alee, Torche, Truck Fighters, A Storm of Light, St Vitus , Intronaught, the Body, Kvelertak, Black Tusk, Yob, Marriages , Cough and Neurosis.
