Still only 26 years old but already a seasoned and highly acclaimed performing and recording artist, Shemekia Copeland is the leading young woman in the now generation of contemporary blues. This new album, produced by and featuring legendary Stax guitarist and producer Steve Cropper, should broaden her audience as never before. As the title implies it is as much of a Soul album as a Blues album, Shemekia's funkiest outing yet. Copeland and Cropper are joined by an all-star cast of players including keyboardist Felix Cavaliere (The Rascals) and The Muscle Shoals Horns for a dozen songs of energized contemporary soul in the Memphis tradition.
