Description
SELVA OSCURA are Umberto Maria Giardini (vocals and guitar), Enrico Blanzieri (guitar), Michele Dallamagnana (bass) and Filippo Dallamagnana (drums). Born from a simple meeting at a summer rock music live, the project develops in the most classic of ways; joining forces and ideas in a rehearsal room behind strictly closed doors. The common idea is to play music with a vague hard flavor, precisely because of its non-placement with the times and fashions of recent years, with the aim therefore, to rediscover the magic lost in the last two decades, finding it in the high volumes and apparently hostile riffs of hard rock of clear Sabbathian mold.
With a powerful, granitic sound and extremely similar to the energy of the 90s, SELVA OSCURA is born. With a deliberately different but at the same time concrete identity, it immerses itself in the liquids of sound mysticism, relaunching a result that will certainly fascinate all those who love hard, psychedelic and lightless atmospheres.
A classic quartet with two guitars, bass and drums, it does not open any doors left ajar in the history of our national rock, however it creates new images that link the psychedelic experience to 90s American rock, with visionary and first-rate lyrics. Colors and suggestions that stun, transporting the listener to a non-place, with no way back. Selva Oscura is all this.
After the single "Mercurio", "Selva Oscura" is the band's eponymous debut EP, published by Overdub Recordings.
The entire EP goes through a classic, but always in the process of being renewed, attempt to mix hard rock with psychedelia. Images that recall nature, the psyche and the drifts of the mind are the recurring themes of the project; the undisputed love for hard rock opens in SELVA OSCURA a completely authentic imagery, at times unexpected if not even hypnotic and for the national discography, new. No one has ever ventured into certain latitudes in such a natural and direct way. SELVA OSCURA represents more than ever an old limit, today totally surpassed.
