Be Happy / Decisions (Picture Sleeve)

Description

A new chapter begins at Chiswick Records with the release of the brand-new single from Scott Lavene. The first in a series of exclusive releases, it is available as a strictly limited edition of just 500 copies. Scott is one of the UK's most distinctive contemporary songwriters, blending sharp observational storytelling, dark humour and working-class realism. Often compared to Ian Dury, Jarvis Cocker and John Cooper Clarke, his songs are populated by dreamers, outsiders and everyday characters. "Full of great poignant, funny and sad songs that display the man's great writing talents." Louder Than War "Think Baxter Dury's warped kid brother." The Times "A master storyteller." Tom Robinson "Sounds like an updated version of something that Stiff Records would have released in the 70s" Steve Lamacq "The very finest example of an up & coming singer-songwriter making music today." Dangerous Minds From Scott: "I'm so thrilled to have my new single released on Chiswick Records. To be part of a label full of music I've always adored is very special to me. Count Bishops, Joe Strummer, Motorhead, The Damned and Johnny Moped to name but a few. These two new songs, Decisions and Be Happy are the first songs recorded in my new home studio, straight to tape, full of charm and loose living. See you out there." His acclaimed fourth album, Cars, Buses, Bedsits and Shops, earned praise for its vivid Essex and East End narratives and sold-out tour dates throughout the UK. Following a return to the South East and the launch of his analogue Milk City Studios, Scott returns with Acoustic Songs & Stories, an intimate tour featuring highlights from his catalogue, new material and the wit and warmth that have built him a devoted cult following.
