'Tamanoar' is the work of the Norwegian saxophonist/composer Jon Øystein Rosland, commissioned by Scheen Jazzorkester in 2016. The 10 pieces forms a suite, and the music can be described as intriguing, seamless interplay, balancing on the edge between contemporary classical music and energetic groovy jazz. The work explores thematic material in unpredictable ways whilst making room for individual expressions and improvisations. With a focus on the joy of playing, the band sculpts the music with the necessary expression and aesthetic.
