Handel's Company & Chamber Choir of the Marien-Kantorei Lemgo; Rainer Johannes Homburg
Description
After two premiere recordings featuring the cantatas forming Gottfried Heinrich Stoelzel's Christmas Oratorio, the Marienkantorei Lemgo under Rainer Johannes Homburg now perform works by Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer. From the late seventeenth century until the middle of the eighteenth century Fischer was court music director in Rastatt and gained reknown as a highly talented composer of sacred and secular instrumental and vocal music throughout Europe.
Performances on historical instruments.
"Homburg and his forces display a natural feel for these pieces, and performances are lovingly executed. The splendid sound and informative essay complete an invaluable addition to the Fischer discography." - Classical.net
