Description
Academy Award winning composer and Nine Inch Nail alumnus Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) scores Triple 9, a crime thriller directed by John Hillcoat.
Produced by Open Road Films and starring Teresa Palmer, Kate Winslet, Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Casey Affleck, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, Triple 9 follows a gang of criminals and corrupt cops who plan the murder of a police officer in order to pull of their biggest heist.
The score is co written with Claudia Sarne & Leopold Ross and Bobby Krlic. According to Ross, the score was a departure from a traditional soundtrack, "John was very involved with the musical composition, he had a particular vision for the music on this movie which was raw sounding electronics along with, bizarrely, a saxophone. John wanted the music not to sound like sophisticated electronics but rather noisy and broken hands on rather than computer generated".
Atticus Ross has successfully transitioned from songwriter and musician and co founding member of one of the leading bands of the 90's, Nine Inch Nails, to film composer. In addition to his scoring achievements and Nine Inch Nails, Ross was a member of rock bands 12 Rounds and How To Destroy Angels, and has produced songs and albums for many iconic bands and artists including Korn, Perry Farrell, and Coheed and Cambria. -
