Description
On this recording, the Ensemble vocal and Kammerchor der Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hamburg (chamber choir) perform selected works by internationally renowned composer Michael Ostrzyga, who has a very close and friendly relationship with both choirs and the conductor Cornelius Trantow. The album comprises manyfold compositions that shed light onto Ostrzyga's diverse approaches to composing, from complex inspirations in nature (e.g. astronomy and fauna) and culture (e. g. native American languages) to a diverse range of compositional devices such as vocal noise, excessive repetition, conceptual art, among more traditional devices. Meanwhile, the renditions of Ostrzyga's works on this album still keep the listener's ear more than satisfied.
