Born in Prague, Deml moved via Salzburg, Munich, Frankfurt, and Los Angeles before finally settling in Hamburg, where he has lived for more than 20 years. A graduate of the renowned Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in L.A., he spent seven years in the USA, working as a sideman on over 100 albums with artists such as Bobby Kimball (Toto), Rick Astley, Snap, Laith Al-Deen, Saga, Michael Sadler, John Wetton, Nena, Achim Reichel, Moses P., Simon Collins, Pat Mears, and Sabrina Setlur. In 1998, he founded his fusion band Errorhead, releasing six albums and a live DVD. In 2005, he was honored with the "Guitar Hero Award" for his album ErrorRhythm, being recognized as one of the world's best new guitarists at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
