    Wray came to fame with his 1958 hit 'Rumble' with its distinctive guitar sound.

    Wray recorded for a host of labels, searching for success, but really only finding critical acclaim and small sales.

    Wray's influence as a guitarist cannot be understated or undervalued as he progressed from rockabilly to surf, garage, swamp, country and then finally into hard rock.

    Amongst his many fellow musician admirers are Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton and Iggy Pop.
