Description
Ranky Tanky’s second album, Good Time, released on double black vinyl for the first time and available as a limited edition gold vinyl double LP in a gatefold sleeve.
On the follow up to their wildly successful debut album, Ranky Tanky explores more of the Gullah culture that makes their musical story so compelling. Numerous originals also color this spectacular collection of iconic regional favorites. “Gullah” comes from West African language and means “a people blessed by God.” “Ranky Tanky” translates loosely as “Work It,” or “Get Funky!” In this spirit this Charleston, SC based quintet performs timeless music of Gullah culture born in the southeastern Sea Island region of the United States. From playful game songs to ecstatic shouts, from heartbreaking spirituals to delicate lullabies, the musical roots of Charleston, SC are “rank” and fertile ground from which these contemporary artists are grateful to have grown. ‘Good Time’ will be supported by a global PR campaign at the highest level.
