Always the iconoclast, here ex Pere Ubu synthesizer guru, Allen Ravenstine, offers an unusual double CD. On the first disc is what the subtitle calls a Radio Play - the spoken narration of a spookily unsettling story, with closely composed musical accompaniment for strings and piano. On the second CD the music stands alone, differently edited and with an additional coda. Hard to place, but firmly on the Art spectrum this is cinematic, atmospheric, continuously modulating and yet strangely suspended, almost static. The whole set is very nicely and carefully packaged with the full text of the story included in its own booklet.
