Description
LAW Records, in conjunction with The Nowell Family Foundation, are releasing an incredibly special 25 song compilation called The House That Bradley Built (releasing September 4th, 2020 on LP/DIG) which features unreleased acoustic covers of Sublime's catalogue. Profits from the record will go to The Nowell Family Foundation to build "Bradley's House," an in-patient rehab center in Long Beach, CA named after the late frontman, Bradley James Nowell.
The comp showcases unreleased and reimagined covers of the iconic band's catalogue as well as a few songs they covered by the original bands that wrote the songs.Highlights from the comp include a beautiful ukulele rendition of "Hope" by the Descendents, (a song Bradley covered on 40 oz. to Freedom), reggae legend Half Pint's "Lovin" (which became the basis for "What I Got"), and an extra special duet of The Melodian's classic, "Rivers of Babylon" sung by Bradley's son, Jakob Nowell and his Father, Jim "Papa" Nowell.
The album is a true celebration of the prolific songwriter's life and the massive American Reggae scene he helped establish through his mainstream success. Through the power of music and community, The House That Bradley Built will take a stand against opioid addiction and help to support those battling addiction.
