Ray Bryant, piano; Tommy Bryant,bass & Oliver Jackson, drums.
These three toured with Coleman Hawkins and Roy Eldridge in 1958 and some of their performances were recorded, but being accompanists to those two great swing giants, their interplay in that context is of a very different character than the one present on these sessions.
Recorded in 1959. The first twelve tracks on this CD were originally issued on an LP titled Ray Bryant Plays, in which he interpreted tunes by other jazz artists. The last two tracks are two versions of a Ray Bryant composition dedicated to his daughter Susie.
