A new world premiere recording of one of the most respected and frequently performed Russian composers living today Desyatnikov. Sketches To Sunset together with Russian Seasons features the multi-award winning Russian violinist Roman Mints accompanied by the BRNO Philarmonic Orchestra and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. The disc features the first ever symphonic recording of Leonid Desyatnikov’s Sketches to Sunset, supervised and authorised by the composer. Conducted by Philipp Chizhevsky, the disc also features Alexey Goribal (piano) and the voice of Yana Ivanilova. Both works are being staged by choreographer Alexei Ratmansky at New York City Ballet 26, 29 April, 2 May (Russian Seasons) and 4, 6, 7, May (Sketches to Sunset) Roman Mints has long championed the work of Leonid Desyatnikov for over 20 years and recorded a number of his works including The Leaden Echo. He has premiered others at his Homecoming Chamber Music Festival in Moscow.
