Description
Punk legend and co-founder of Rocket From the Tombs, Dead Boys, and The Batusis releases his first solo effort; Genya Ravan and (CBGB's) Hilly Kristal produced.
Punk icon, Cheetah Chrome, acclaimed author and A&R Director/Producer for Plowboy Records, releases his first ever studio collection of solo material, Solo. Solo is a 7-song EP from a 1996 recording session produced by Genya Ravan (who was also behind the board for Young, Loud and Snotty) and executive produced by CBGB's Hilly Kristal. Solo has been deemed Cheetah's "great lost solo album" which also combined the '96 session with a Nashville session from 2010 featuring Sylvain Sylvain (New York Dolls), Lez Warner (The Cult) and Sean Koos (Joan Jett and The Blackhearts).
Solo segues from hard, loud rock to jangly power pop, all anchored by Chrome's gruff growl and intricate guitar work. It ties in well with the release of the film CBGB , where Cheetah Chrome is portrayed by actor Rupert Grint and also makes a cameo appearance in it.
