Description
The Luka State play rock'n'roll like their lives depend on it.
Which is appropriate as there's not much else that can get them a ticket out of their hometown Winsford in Cheshire. The town's main job provider is the local salt mine, and the boys in the band have CV's that include working in a Pritt Stick factory, making candles, part-time acting, and for lead singer Conrad, working in a Unit for 'Problem Children', a place where he nearly found himself as a youth.
The band are a people's band, they live for their fans and for the music, they've pitched up and played in their fans' flats, houses, and student digs in towns and cities throughout Europe - including a private show for the homeless at a squat on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Their Youtube show, "Listen To This…" gives back to the supporting bands they love and is armed with their own 'how to" manual for new bands looking to release music.
The Luka State's new Youtube Show, "Listen To This…" showcases the best in underground music from around the world. On Episode 15, Listen To This has racked up over 100,000 views.
The debut album, "Fall In Fall Out" is set to release summer 2017 with 5 singles and 5 rounds of radio promotion leading up to the launch. The record is self-produced by the previously deemed "unemployable" pritt stick factory working, bassist, Sam Bell. Mixes are by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Clean Cut Kid), Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers) and Chris Sheldon (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro) and the Record is mastered by Tim Young at Metropolis Studios.
