Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of an expanded 3CD edition of the acclaimed Procol Harum album "Procol's Ninth". Released in August 1975 the album was the product of a series of recording sessions at The Who's Ramport Studios in Battersea, produced by the legendary American song writing and producing team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.Procol's Ninth was another fine collection of material written by Gary Brooker and lyricist Keith Reid, with such memorable tracks as Pandora's Box (a hit single for the band in July 1975), The Unquiet Zone, Fool's Gold and Typewriter Torment. However, the album was also notable for featuring two cover versions, namely Leiber and Stoller's I Keep Forgetting and Lennon and McCartney's Eight Days a Week. This new expanded three CD edition of Procol's Ninth includes the original album with eight bonus tracks taken from the album sessions (five of which are previously unreleased), along with two additional bonus discs recorded in concert at the Capitol Theater, Passaic, New Jersey on 17th October 1975 and at Leicester University on 29th November 1975, both previously unreleased. This edition of Procol's Ninth has been newly re-mastered and also includes a lavishly illustrated booklet featuring material from Gary Brooker's personal archive and an essay by Procol Harum authority Roland Clare.
