• Marc Almond has a documented love of the 7' Single format and this festive offering is the third release in his limited edition vinyl exclusive 'Marc Almond Singles Club’ comprising of songs specially recorded or curated for the series.
• A unique feature of the series are the record sleeves themselves which all feature a specially commissioned collage created by Marc himself.
The Christmas Single has been a hardy perennial of the British record release schedules since the birth of recorded music and Marc Almond very much felt that he would like to offer a couple of stellar interpretations of 'off-piste’ Christmas songs himself as part of the varied mix of titles offered in his Singles Club.
Marc states: 'On looking for songs with a Christmas feel that hadn’t been done to death, I remembered this gorgeous gem as performed by Vashti Bunyan in 1966. A cool Phil Spector-ish sound with a close-up, intimate vocal. 'I might catch the flu, or a cold in my nose', sings Vashti, encouraging us to snuggle up warm! This special limited edition 7' vinyl release track is produced by Neal X with Tim Weller on drums, especially for my Singles Club collection.'
The B-Side is a heartfelt cover of Billy Fury’s song 'My Christmas Prayer’ that originated as part of a digitally delivered fan club message some years back. This is its first appearance on a physical format!
