  • Description

Jeremy Sassoon is one of the UK's most in-demand singer-pianists, either solo or accompanied by his band, he captivates audiences with his natural, soulful voice, his arrangements of jazz, blues, groove and soul classics, together with his entertaining repartee as a frontman.

Prior to his life as a musician, Jeremy enjoyed a previous career in medicine, eventually practising as a hospital psychiatrist, and in his new album Older and Wiser, he explores the parallels between his role in both careers, reaching the surprising conclusion that they have more in common than one might expect.

Jeremy has headlined sell-out shows at Ronnie Scott's, PizzaExpress Soho, the 606 Club and the Jazz Cafe. He has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Iridium Jazz Club in New York, and headlines every year at Berlin's premier jazz club, "A Trane".

In 2014, his recording of the beautiful Marc Cohn song "The Things We've Handed Down" was featured on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs and then hit number 1 in the iTunes vocal download chart.

Jeremy Sassoon is the UK's foremost artist tributing the music of Ray Charles with his big band, "Ray Charles Project". He played the main stage at the Love Supreme Jazz Festival 2019 alongside Lauryn Hill and Jamie Cullum. With his Ray Charles big band tribute, he also headlined the Manchester, London, Wigan and Scarborough jazz festivals and has just completed his third run at the Edinburgh Fringe with his renowned show "MOJO".
