Founded in 2016 in Odesa by academic pianist and composer Andrii Pokaz, Pokaz Trio introduced a new wave of contemporary jazz in Ukraine. The trio successfully combines jazz, classical and ethnic music with electronic additions. The Voices album is a long-term work on immersion in one's own feelings. Turning to the history and experience of ancestors. A kind of journey through years and distances. 'On the border of genres, listening to our own nature and relying on self-confidence, we created this album.'
Now Pokaz Trio are conducting a cultural mission around Europe: bringing awareness of the war situation in Ukraine and to fundraise money for "children of heroes" foundation through contemporary Ukrainian jazz music.
