Description
Premiata Forneria Marconi, better known in English speaking countries as P.F.M., were arguably the finest Italian Progressive rock band of the 1970s and certainly one of the most well known.
A successful act in their homeland, they came to international attention when they signed to Emerson, Lake and Palmers label Manticore in 1973.
A series of albums such as Photos of Ghosts, The World Became the World, Cook and Chocolate Kings earned the band a loyal following in the UK, the USA, Canada and Japan, with interest in PFM in Britain gaining enough momentum to see the band being invited to perform two radio concerts for BBC Radio in 1975 and 1976 (at the BBCs Paris Theatre in London) and to participate in the classic BBC 2 TV series The Old Grey Whistle Test on a number of occasions.
