THE EX-MANSUN FRONTMAN'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO THE LIMELIGHT

DRAPER'S FIRST EVER SOLO TOUR IN SUPPORT OF HIS TOP 20 DEBUT SOLO ALBUM

***** RECORD COLLECTOR **** MOJO ****UNCUT

Following his first two solo EPs released through the adventurous and ground-breaking Kscope label, his debut solo album reaching top 20 in the UK Album Charts and a sold-out debut UK solo tour, the ex-Mansun songwriter and frontman Paul Draper is revelling in his newfound success. The fervent Mansun cult following from the 90s is aflame once again, resulting in a pulsing live atmosphere that was at full throttle for the performance at London's Scala.

Draper's triumphs drove a huge fan-driven online calling for a second tour, for which he will be performing his solo album 'Spooky Action' as well as Mansun's #1 album 'Attack of the Grey Lantern', starting just three days after the release of 'Live at Scala'. This new live album captures his energetic stage presence and three Mansun fan classics – "Wide Open Space", "Disgusting" and "I Can Only Disappoint U" – which reveal how strongly the new solo material stands up with the best of one of Britain's iconic Britpop bands. Draper's live band also features album collaborator and Kscope label mate, The Anchoress, and Paul is due to perform as the main support for his other album collaborator, Steven Wilson, for the 'To the Bone' USA tour.

'Live at Scala' has been mixed by Draper's long-time collaborator P-Dub, and will be presented as a CD in digipack packaging. It also follows the announcement that the Mansun back catalogue will be newly remastered and reissued with bonus material on the Kscope label – including the UK #1 album 'Attack of the Grey Lantern'.

    Press for Spooky Action:
"a remarkable, relentless soundtrack… a new favourite record" Record Collector (UK)
"A growling electro-rock odyssey built on a grand scale. This has an impressive heft" UNCUT (UK) "the perfect album… Spooky Action arouses a lot of nostalgic feelings but sounds absolutely modern and groundbreaking" Laut (DE)
