Description
Following a suggestion from Philip Lane, the doyen of British Light Music, these recordings of Adam Saunders' orchestral works came into being. Adam has enjoyed a varied career as performer, educator, composer of library and production music but it is his compositions for the concert platform that are showcased here. Over the years, his compositions have been performed and broadcast around the world by orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Hallé, English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, City of Prague Philharmonic, RTE Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Ulster Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, amongst others. In 2000, Adam had the honour of being appointed an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
