The Fear That This Is Real is the debut album from Dutch sister duo Sarah Julia, capturing the suspended moment before change: when standing still is no longer possible, but stepping into the unknown still feels frightening. "It lives in that moment when your hand is on the door handle, but you haven't opened it yet," they explain. Recorded live in Woodstock with Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Big Thief, Billie Marten), its spacious arrangements, meditative guitars and luminous harmonies explore heartbreak, resignation and hope, offering not an answer, but a hand to hold while taking the leap.
