Mystery Fix is the synthpop project of electroacoustic musicianTim Walters in collaboration with various singer/lyricists. For Mystery Fix's debut album Life to Life, he is joined by Anton Barbeau.
A sonic and visual computer artist, over the last couple of decades Walters has bleeped and blooped with Circular Firing Squad, Slaw, andUsufruct, researched artificial stupidity with Shalmaneser, and played electric dulcimer and bass guitar with Pledge Drive andReconnaissance Fly. He has released seven solo albums of electroacoustic music, most recently Stricture.
Anton Barbeau, a Sacramento native and lifelong songwriter, has released over 30 albums, including his latest,Morgenmusik/Nachtschlager. He's worked with members ofXTC, Cake, The Pretenders, The Soft Boys and theBevis Frond. Popmatters says of him, simply, "Anton Barbeau is one of the best unknown pop singer-songwriters in the world, period." After living abroad for 15 years, first in the UK and then in Berlin, Barbeau has returned to California, and now lives on his wife's small town family farm.
