Walkin' (Prestige PRLP-7076) is a key album in Miles Davis' discography. It contains the product of two rather different 1954 sessions. The current release compiles both of these sessions in their entireties. Miles is featured along with such celebrated stars as J. J. Johnson, Lucky Thompson, Horace Silver, and Kenny Clarke. A complete 1952 session also featuring Miles with J. J. Johnson has been added as a bonus.

Walkin' was (and is) a key album in Miles Davis' discography. It contains the product of two rather different sessions. The first date (which is actually the second chronologically) yielded just two tracks, although, something new for the time, they were long enough to fill up one side of an LP. Miles is in the company of such stars as J. J. Johnson on trombone, Horace Silver on piano, Percy Heath on bass, and Kenny Clarke on drums.
